Vontae Davis dies aged 35

Cornerback Vontae Davis, a former member of the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills, passed away at the age of 35.

In Southwest Ranches, Florida, a property is where his body was discovered. According to Davie Police, an investigation is being conducted, but they don't believe there was any wrongdoing.

"Davie Police Officers responded to 6051 SW 178th Avenue this morning in reference to a medical call," a police statement stated. When the house helper discovered the homeowner dead, she called the police.

'We can confirm that the deceased individual is Vontae Davis age 35. Preliminary information suggests that foul play is not involved. The investigation remains active.'

Davis passed away one year after his Tesla crashed in South Florida and was discovered dozing off on the side of the road.

Vernon, the Super Bowl winner, has a younger brother named Davis. In a tearful Facebook post, his childhood friend Bobby Maze confirmed his loss.

'To my childhood friend and to my brother Vontae Davis rest in peace,' Maze wrote. 'No words can explain how I feel right now.

'You was one of a kind and so full of life. Life will never be the same without my brother. Them FaceTime calls etc damn I wish we could have one more convo. You beat the odds, you made it, you did it your way, it just wasn't supposed to end like this.'

Chester Frazier, Davis's former college football coach, also gave a tribute on X.

'We lost a great today!!!' Frazier said. 'RIP TO @vontaedavis man nothing but good memories of that dude in school!!'

After being selected with the 25th overall choice in the 2009 NFL Draft, Davis played until his sudden retirement in the middle of a Bills game against the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018.

After driving while intoxicated in November of last year, Davis reached a plea agreement with Broward County, Florida, prosecutors. Davis was given a 12-month probationary term for reckless driving and, in accordance with court records, he and his attorneys decided to enter a no contest plea.

Davis was involved in a collision with a Toyota pickup truck's rear end on a South Florida county highway back in February when he was driving his black Tesla.
Images that TMZ was able to capture show Davis dozing off with his arms tucked behind his head while the wreckage of both cars is parked close by. Davis is wearing a mint green outfit.

Along with being required to pay penalties and costs to reimburse the medical bills of those injured in the incident, he was also sentenced to perform fifty hours of community service.

Additionally, witnesses told TMZ that Davis remained sleeping until officers placed him in the back of a patrol cruiser, even as first responders maneuvered around him.

Davis appeared to have trouble staying up even then; video of him dozing off in his seat was captured.

First responders showed up at the site of an automobile crash involving two vehicles on State Road 821 on Saturday, February 4, at approximately 7.51 a.m., a Florida Highway Patrol official informed TMZ.
