It has been announced that Richard Lewis passed away at the age of 76 following a protracted fight with Parkinson's disease.

With his wife Joyce Lapinsky by his side, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star Lewis enjoyed a storied career in Hollywood as an actor, writer, and comedian. Variety verified that Lewis's death was caused by a heart attack.
According to a statement provided to Deadline by his manager Jeff Abraham, his wife Joyce Lapinsky "thanks everyone for all the love, friendship, and support and asks for privacy at this time." This confirms his passing.
Creator and star of Curb Your Enthusiasm Larry David honored his co-star in a statement released by HBO.
David added in the statement, "Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and he's been like a brother to me for most of my life," Variety reported.David had previously made reference to Richard's health issues when he expressed his regret that his "pal, my great friend" was unable to attend the popular show's January 31 season 10 launch.
Among Lewis's many credits is a long-running part in the popular comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm as a fictionalized version of himself. He made a comeback for the 12th and final season of the show, which aired this year.
